ระหว่างทางเธอได้พบกับชายชราที่มีเครายาวเฟื้อยดูน่าเกรงขาม และได้ถามเธอว่า “หนีอะไรมา” หญิงสาวจึงได้เล่าเรื่องราวทั้งหมด ชายชราบอกให้เธอกลับไปยังหมู่บ้านและพับกังหันลมกระดาษให้มากที่สุดเท่าที่จะมากได้ จากนั้นให้นำไปเสียบไว้หน้าหมู่บ้าน ซึ่งเธอก็ได้ทำตาม เมื่อโจรสลัดยกพลขึ้นมา พวกเขากลับเดินผ่านหมู่บ้านไปเสียเฉย ๆ โดยไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้น ชาวบ้านจึงเชื่อว่าแท้จริงแล้วชายชราคนนั้นคือ ท่านนายพลแชกง ที่มาช่วยเหลือชาวบ้าน และต่อมาหมู่บ้านแห่งนี้ก็คือที่ตั้งวัดแชกงหมิวในปัจจุบันนี่เอง   ขั้นตอนการไหว้เสริมความปัง

ขั้นตอนที่ 1
• ให้เดินมาตรงบริเวณจุดไหว้ (ซึ่งจะมีเจ้าหน้าที่คอยให้คำแนะนำ)
• หันหน้าออกนอกวัด กล่าวแจ้งฟ้าดิน บอกชื่อ-นามสกุล, วัน-เดือน-ปีเกิด และวัตถุประสงค์ที่มาวัดนี้ แล้วไหว้ 3 ครั้ง
• หันหน้ากลับมาด้านในวัด ไหว้ 3 ครั้ง เจ้าหน้าที่นำไหว้จะกล่าวอธิษฐาน (ภาษากวางตุ้ง) เมื่อจบจะพูดประโยคปิดท้ายว่า “เฮง ๆ” สาธุ 3 ครั้ง
• จากนั้นค่อยนำธูปไปปักที่กระถาง กระถางละ 3 ดอก
 

ขั้นตอนที่ 2
• เมื่อเดินผ่านประตูเข้ามาจะเจอกับแชกงหมิว และให้ทำการขอพร โดยยืนตรงหน้าองค์แชกงหมิว และตั้งจิตอธิษฐาน ไหว้เสร็จค่อยนำกระดาษเงิน-กระดาษทองไปไว้ในจุดที่เจ้าหน้าที่วัดจัดไว้ให้

 

ขั้นตอนที่ 3จากนั้นค่อยไปหมุนกังหัน ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 4 ใบพัด ซึ่งแต่ละใบก็จะมีความหมายต่างกัน
• ใบพัดที่ 1 เดินทางปลอดภัย
• ใบพัดที่ 2 สุขภาพร่างกายแข็งแรง อายุยืนยาว
• ใบพัดที่ 3 โชคลาภ เงินทอง
• ใบพัดที่ 4 คิดหวังสิ่งใดก็สมความปรารถนา

 ตั้งจิตอธิษฐานแล้วใช้มือหมุนกังหัน 3 ครั้ง ตีกลองที่อยู่ข้าง ๆ อีก 3 ครั้ง คนฮ่องกงเชื่อว่าเป็นการขจัดปัดเป่าสิ่งไม่ดีให้ออกไปแล้วนำพาแต่สิ่งดีเข้ามาในชีวิต สำหรับใครบูชากังหันหรือมีของที่บูชาอยู่แล้ว ที่นี่มีการทำพิธีบูชา โดยจะมีการสวดและโรยผงธูปบนเครื่องรางที่เราบูชา ซึ่งเป็นพิธีที่นิยมมากในวัดแห่งนี้ ไปถึงที่แล้วต้องลอง
